C M Hoof Comet Lens

Owners of mid-1950s Airstream, Crosley, and Yellowstone trailers are interested in keeping their trailers original wherever possible.

These reproduction Comet lenses will maintain an authentic look. C.M. Hoof was an auto parts manufacturer and wholesaler from the first half of the 20th century. They produced an innovative  teardrop marker light that is 6-3/8″ long, 3-3/4″ wide at its widest point, and 3-1/4″ high. What makes this marker light special is that very little metal shows. The lens sits inside a narrow aluminum edge. In catalogs of the day, Hoof billed it as “The most unusual and beautiful Marker Light ever offered.”

If you look very carefully at your old original lenses you may see the words C M HOOF molded into the lens. This is for the lens only. Bases are not available.

Note:  Due to the extreme rarity of this marker light, we have these lenses handmade individually in silicone molds. Expect a few minor imperfections in the lens that will not affect durablity or overall appearance.
