Corrugated Fiberglass Panel for Rox-Sol Gard Canopy

This is a rough cut fiberglass panel that can be used to make a stoneguard.

For years, we sold completely assembled corrugated fiberglass stoneguards like those that were originally used on early 1960s Airtreams. As old school industrial as it gets, the rock guards were just like those that were once made by Thornton Industries of Knoxville, IA under the name Rox-Sol Gard Canopy. 

Due to rising costs of assembly, we no longer offer the assembled rock guards, but we do offer most of the hard-to-get parts so that you can make your own.

A finely corrugated fiberglass panel is the most important part of the rockguard to mimic the old look.  Our panel corrugation is only 3/8″ deep, which is unlike common fiberglass roofing panes. This is the rough cut panel only and does not include any hardware.

We offer the panels in semi-transparent, translucent white, or translucent green.  We supply the panels 46″ x 26″ so you will need to cut them with a fine tooth blade to the size you prefer.  Many finished stone guards are 46″ x 24″ but any custom size can be achieved by cutting.

Typically, common 1″ x 1″ aluminum angle extrusions are riveted together to create a frame. That angle can be sourced at home centers.  We recommend using short offcuts of the aluminum extrusion to make inside corner brackets to support the corners.

The panel is riveted into the frame with solid rivets (if you have the tools) or pop rivets. We do not recommend using Olympic rivets as the back end of the rivet will be visible on the back of the rockguard when finished.
